Finished as one of the top five Braves in each of the next two meets, helping the Braves finish fourth as a team at both the Gans Creek Classic and Bradley Pink Classic against some of the country's best athletes. Indoor: Competed in six meets during the 2024 indoor season. Placed third and seventh in his two 3000m appearances during the season, running a season-best 8:31.50 at the IUPUI Invitational. At the Illini open, he finished in eighth place in the 8k, clocking in at 25:28.5. Indoor: Competed in six meets during the season. At the Missouri Valley Championship, he finished in eighth in the mile event with a time of 4:22.41. He collected a fourth place mile finish at the Iowa Open and 12th at the Cyclone Open 3000m event. Outdoor: To complete his rookie season, he ran in six meets during the outdoor season. In the MVC Championship, he placed 10th in the 5000m with a time of 14:50.52. At the Bryan Clay Invitational, he recorded a fourth place finish in the 5000m. In the 3000m steeplechase at the Gary Wieneke Memorial, he clocked in at 9:42.92 to earn a sixth place finish. HIGH SCHOOL Earned four letters at Lincoln Way Central High School. Led the Knights to four conference championships in cross country, while also advancing as a team to the state championship in 2019. Individually, placed ninth at the 3A Championship to earn all-state accolades. On the track, posted personal bests of 4:19 in the 1,600m and 9:06 in the 3,200m. Finished fourth at the state championship in the 3,200m. PERSONAL The son of Joe and Amy Simone, born June 17, 2004. Mother ran cross country at Calvin College, while father ran at Mankato State. Has two brothers, Sam and Luke. Majoring in nursing.
