In his first season as the assistant coach of sprints and jumps at Bradley he helped send three runners to the first round of the NCAA championships including Eli Rieker who ran a school record in the 200 meter of 20.93 to send him to NCAAs.
A graduate and standout with the Notre Dame and Dartmouth track and field programs, Max Frye enters his first season as the assistant coach of sprints and jumps at Bradley.
A native of Columbus Ohio, Frye was a multiple-time NCAA Regional Qualifier in the 400 meter hurdles. At Dartmouth, he was the Ivy League Champion in that event, holds the second best mark in the 400 meter hurdles in school history, and was a two-time captain. At Notre Dame, Frye was a member of the NCAA Runner-Up distance medley relay team at Indoor Nationals and was First-Team All-ACC in the 400 meter hurdles.
Frye began his coaching career at the Ohio Speed Academy, an Ohio high school track club. During his tenure, Frye worked with 5 state champions across the girls hurdle events, including the best 100 meter hurdler in the country, Camden Bentley.
After competing for Notre Dame during his fifth year of eligibility, Frye remained at Notre Dame as an assistant coach for the sprints, jumps, hurdles, and multis. During his short time at Notre Dame, Frye assisted in coaching 5 Nationals Qualifiers, 3 All-Americans, 1 ACC Champion, and the 2023 Indoor pentathlon National Champion, Jadin O'brien.
Frye graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in philosophy in 2021, and from Notre Dame with a Masters in Science of Management in 2022.
