She finished 11th in her collegiate debut at the Bradley Intercollegiate, completing the three-mile race in 17:50.7. She finished 27th in her first Missouri Valley Conference Championship, the sixth-best time among the Braves. Balzer ran at the NCAA Midwest Regional, where she finished 103rd out of 230 runners.
