2016-17 SEASON
Cross Country: Ran in five meets as a senior • Posted the top time by a varsity runner at the Bradley Invitational, finishing second overall in a time of 26:10.9 • Also registered top-20 finishes at the Bradley Intercollegiate (10th) and the Illini Open (19th).
Indoor: Advanced to the finals of the mile run at the MVC Championship, placing ninth overall • Finished second in the mile at the EIU Friday Night Special with a PR time of 4:16.05 • Also set career-bests in the 3,000m run at the GVSU Big Meet (8:29.03) and in the 5,000m run at the Gladstein Invitational (15:08.76).
Outdoor: Posted the fastest time in the Missouri Valley Conference in the 3,000m steeplechase during the 2017 season, registering a mark of 9:03.79 at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival • His time also ranks fourth in the school’s record book • Also competed in the 1,500m run with a season-best time of 3:56.66.
2015-16 SEASON
Cross Country: Led four Braves in the field at the Illini Open, crossing the line in ninth • Finished 12th at the season-opening Western Illinois Early Bird • Posted a career-best 8K time at the Bradley Classic.
Indoor: Competed in the 3,000m during the indoor track season, posting a season-best time at the Fred Wilt Invite.
Outdoor: Opened the outdoor season with a second-place finish in the steeplechase at the Bill Cornell Invitational • Took fourth at the Gibson Invite in the steeplechase with a career-best time of 9:11.45 • Also posted career-best times in the 1,500m and 5,000m during the outdoor season.
2014-15 SEASON
Cross Country: Turned in career-best 6K and 8K times during the cross country season.
Indoor: Competed in the 3,000m at the MVC Indoor Championship.
Outdoor: Earned all-conference honors after taking third in the 3,000m steeplechase at the MVC Outdoor Championship • Posted the second-best 2,000m steeplechase time in school history at the Vanderbilt Black & Gold • His 3,000m steeplechase time of 9:19.88 at the MVC Championship ranks fourth in school history.
2013-14 SEASON
Cross Country: Improved his 8K time each of his four outings of that distance.
Indoor: Turned in a season-best 8K of 26:30 at the Illini Open.
HIGH SCHOOL
Part of the Metro Conference record setting 4x1600 meter relay team • Earned four letters in cross country and was a two-time all-conference honoree • Five-time all-conference selection in track • Helped the Red Raiders qualify for the state cross country championship as a junior • Also lettered in baseball.
PERSONAL
The son of David and Toni Uhrich, Steffen was born in Wauwatosa, Wis. • His father David ran cross country and track at Marquette • One younger sibling, CeCe • Majoring in civil engineering.
