Overview: A four-year letterwinner in basketball, Spinas-Valainis joined the Bradley Softball for the 2014 season after completing her basketball eligibility following the 2013-14 season … Played two years of softball, wrapping up her collegiate career in 2015.
2015 (Senior Year of Softball): Named the team’s co-MVP … Took over the top spot in Bradley rotation in her only full season of softball … Had a team-high 41 appearances for the third most in school history … Led the team in ERA (4.14), wins (11), complete games (17), innings (196.0) and strikeouts (111) … Named MVC Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 23 after she posted a 0.78 ERA in three appearances at the Eagle Classic … Was 8-9 with a 3.31 ERA in 21 outings against Valley opponents … Limited league foes to a .259 average over 116.1 innings of work … Tossed 64 percent of Bradley’s innings in MVC games … Had a complete game shutout in the series finale against Loyola … Was 5-5 with a 3.42 ERA in 13 appearances at Laura Bradley Park.
2014 (Junior Year of Softball): Joined the team after the end of the 2013-14 basketball season … Made nine appearances and led the team with two saves … Made her first career appearance 17th-ranked Tulsa, pitching one inning of scoreless relief … Earned her first career save at Missouri State, not giving up a hit in one inning … Picked up another save at Drake with two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen … Pitched 4.2 innings in the NCAA Tournament game against 19th-ranked Nebraska.
2013-14 (Senior): Came on strong in her final season of basketball, starting 15 of the 29 games she appeared in … Scored more points and grabbed more rebounds in 2013-14 than she did in her first three seasons combined … Averaged career-highs of 8.9 points and 5.4 boards per game … Led the team in offensive rebounding, pulling down 2.4 offensive boards per tilt … Averaged 9.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in MVC play … Shot 52.1 percent (37-for-71) from the field and averaged 11.6 points per game over the last nine contests of her career … Her 100 made free throws tied for the eighth best season total by a Bradley senior … Averaged 8.6 points on 48 percent shooting and 5.1 rebounds when coming off the bench ... Was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field to score a career-high 16 points against Drake (Feb. 21) ... Blocked a potential game-winning shot by Illinois State in the final 12 seconds of a 64-62 win ... Finished with nine points, career-high 11 rebounds, two assists and three blocks against the Redbirds ... Turned in the top performance of her career at Missouri State, collecting 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting to go with nine rebounds, one assist in addition to tying a career-high with three blocks and coming away with a career-best three steals ... Had 10 points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal in the second half to help Bradley erase an 11-point halftime deficit in the victory against Illinois.
2012-13 (Junior): Saw an increased role, making seven starts in the post and nearly doubled her average minutes played ... Made her first career start against Central Michigan, matching a then career-best with eight points in the season opener ... Came off the bench to grab a career-best seven rebounds in the win against Illinois State and also matched a career-high with two blocks in addition to her seven points ... Scored a career-high 11 points and also had five rebounds, two blocks and two steals in just 18 minutes off the bench in the home victory against Southern Illinois ... ... Was 3-for-3 from the field with six points and four rebounds in the win at Eastern Illinois ... Grabbed five boards and dished out an assist in 10 minutes against Illinois ... After missing three of four games due to injury, returned to the floor at Indiana State in the MVC opener to collect seven points, four rebounds, one block & one steal in 23 minutes off the bench.
2011-12 (Sophomore): Hauled down a then career-best five rebounds and also had three points in 15 minutes at Northern Illinois ... Played a career-high 20 minutes against Niagara, where she matched a career-best with eight points ... Collected a career-high six rebounds, to go along with four points and a block in 13 minutes off the bench against Western Illinois.
2010-11 (Freshman): Played in 22 games off the bench ... Made her debut in the season opener, playing two minutes against Butler ... Scored her first career points late in the first half of Bradley's win at Eastern Illinois ... Turned in five points and three rebounds against Saint Louis ... Tossed in seven points on 3-of-5 shooting in 15 minutes against Southern Illinois ... Played a big role in Bradley's rally attempt at Wichita State, finishing with a season-high eight points on 3-of-5 shooting in 19 minutes off the bench.
High School: Two-time first-team all-state selection and was a two-time conference player of the year ... McDonald's All-American nominee ... Quad City Times Female Athlete of the Year as a senior ... Averaged 18.6 points, 9.5 rebounds and had a school season-record 77 blocked shots as a junior ... Helped Assumption to a state championship as a sophomore ... Standout in softball, where was a two-time first-team all-state pitcher ... Struck out more than 1,000 batters during her prep career.
