After serving as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance for his first three-and-a-half years on The Hilltop, Escue was promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, Alumni Relations & Strategic Initiatives in December 2017.  in addition to his continued role overseeing NCAA compliance, he is the department's primary liaison to the Varsity Club, helping the alumni letterwinners association grow its membership and enhance its fundraising efforts.  Moreover, Escue is instrumental in assisting with the execution of the department's strategic initiatives.

Escue began his compliance career in February 2014 as the NCAA Compliance Intern at UMKC and returned to Bradley from Lincoln University, where he had served as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance since May. During his short time at Lincoln, Escue instituted an ongoing Academic Improvement Plan to improve student-athlete academic performance and he created a student-athlete handbook and informational booklet for athletic department donors. He also chaired the school's head baseball coach search committee.

A political science major, Escue graduated from Bradley in 2009 with Summa Cum Laude honors before enrolling in the Saint Louis University School of Law, where he earned his juris doctorate degree in 2013. In his final semester of law school, Escue served as a student attorney advocating on behalf of various organizations seeking 501(c)(3) non-profit status.

Escue played baseball for two seasons at Bradley from 2008-09 after transferring from Stanford University. A two-time, honorable mention All-Missouri Valley Conference selection as a first baseman in 2008 and outfielder in 2009, Escue hit .285 in 95 games for the Braves. He led the team with 17 doubles as a junior in 2008 and shared the team lead with four home runs in 2009. In addition to his Academic All-America award in 2009, Escue was a finalist for college baseball's 2009 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, which recognizes the top student-athletes in the nation by considering academics, character, community service and competition.
