Lucas Manning enters his first season as an assistant coach for Bradley Baseball.
Manning comes to Bradley after three seasons at Wofford, where he appeared in 133 games and made 94 starts, primarily at catcher. He compiled a .313 career batting average with 101 hits, 22 doubles, five triples, 58 RBI, 93 runs scored, 41 walks and 26 stolen bases.
As a senior in 2026, Manning started 38 games behind the plate and produced the best offensive season of his career. He hit .321 with 42 hits, 10 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs, 29 RBI and 38 runs scored. He posted a slugging percentage above .600 and ranked third on the team with a 1.012 OPS. Manning was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, Southern Conference Spring All-Academic Team and SoCon Academic Honor Roll.
Manning was a member of Wofford’s 2024 Southern Conference Tournament championship team, which advanced to the Chapel Hill Regional and earned the first NCAA Tournament victory in program history. He hit .343 during the championship season, totaling 37 hits, 39 runs, 20 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 50 games. In the SoCon Championship against Samford, Manning recorded three hits, drove in two runs and scored twice.
Before arriving at Wofford, Manning played the 2023 season at Holy Cross. He started 29 of his 32 appearances and hit .287 with 27 hits, seven doubles, 19 runs, 11 RBI, 16 walks and nine stolen bases.
A native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Manning played four seasons of varsity baseball at West Forsyth High School as a catcher and third baseman. He was named the team’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2022 after hitting .500 in conference play and .362 overall. West Forsyth won the Central Piedmont Conference Tournament championship and advanced to the state quarterfinals during his senior season.
Manning was also a member of the National Honor Society and National Latin Honor Society. He earned multiple SoCon Academic Honor Roll and Spring All-Academic Team selections during his collegiate career and majored in studio art.
