Oliver Goss enters his fourth season as an assistant coach for Bradley Women’s Basketball. He joined the program prior to the 2022-23 season.
The combined records for the Northwestern Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs during his six seasons with the two Wildcats programs: 124-64 (.660) with two NCAA Tournament appearances, a WNIT runner-up and a Big Ten Conference title.
"I’m excited to welcome Ollie to the Hilltop," said Bradley Women's Basketball Head Coach Kate Popovec. "His diverse experiences on the court and administratively will be huge assets for our program.
"I’ve watched first hand as Ollie contributed to the most successful tenures of Northwestern Men and Women’s basketball," Popovec added. "He’s got a great basketball mind, a tremendous work ethic and strongly values his relationships among the department and players."
While earning his bachelor’s degree in sports management with a minor in business from Bowling Green State in 2013, Goss got his start in basketball by coaching at his high school alma mater in Rossford, OH. Upon graduation, he served as the director of the Toledo Drive AAU Basketball program from 2013-15, overseeing a six-team program in 12U-17U age groups.
While pursuing his master’s degree in sports administration from Northwestern University’s School of Professional Studies, Goss served as a graduate manager for the Wildcats men’s basketball squad from 2015-17. Assisting with scouting reports, film breakdown, travel and game day operations, Goss helped the Wildcats to consecutive 20-win seasons, including a program-best 24 wins in 2016-17, and their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017, highlighted by a first-round win against Vanderbilt.
Following a brief stint serving as a recruiting coordinator for NCSA in 2018 and experiencing the recruiting process from the student-athlete and family perspective, Goss returned to Northwestern as the assistant director of operations for the women’s basketball program in 2018. A year later, he was promoted to director of operations.
With a hand in all logistical aspects of the Northwestern Women’s Basketball program, Goss helped the Wildcats to a 9-win jump to 21-15 in his first season on the staff, culminating with a runner-up finish in the 2019 WNIT. Though denied an opportunity to participate in the NCAA Tournament by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wildcats jumped to 26-4 in 2019-20 and earned their first Big Ten Conference regular-season title in 30 years. Northwestern followed with a 16-9 record during the abbreviated 2020-21 season and took advantage of its at-large selection for the NCAA Tournament by earning their first tourney win in 28 years with a 62-51 victory against UCF.
Goss married Kate Popovec in August 2022.
