TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Bradley won the first two games of its Missouri Valley Conference volleyball match Saturday at Indiana State, but the Sycamores used solid defense and 13 service aces to come from behind and defeat the Braves in five games (32-30, 30-28, 25-30, 26-30, 6-15) in Terre Haute, Ind.

The Sycamores Kelly Spisak set a school record and tied for the fourth best dig total in Missouri Valley Conference history with 37 digs to lead the Indiana State defensive efforts against the Braves.

Bradley (5-7 overall, 0-3 MVC) was led by junior Lindsay Stalzer's 18 kills and four blocks. The Braves hit a combined .271 in the opening two games posting 32-30 and 30-28 victories to take a 2-0 lead. Indiana State limited Bradley to a combined .099 hitting percentage in the final three games, however, to help spark the comeback win.

Stalzer became the 14th player in program history to record 900 career kills and passed Lisa LaMontagne (1991-94) for 13th on the Braves career kills chart. Sophomore Amber DeBroux was Bradley's top threat on the outside, notching 12 kills and hitting at a .417 clip. DeBroux also added three block assists.

Junior Briony Hammet had her team-best fourth double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs. Junior Gillian Falknor had 19 kills to go along with a season-high three service aces.

Four Sycamores had double-digit kill totals with Ann Lidester posting a match-high 19 kills. Setter Kerri Byrum had a triple-double with 13 kills, 54 assists and 14 digs. Indiana State's 87-80 edge in digs helped lead to a 75-58 advantage for the Sycamores in kills. Indiana State also tallied 13 aces and owned an 11-7 advantage in blocks.

Bradley completed its 12-match season-opening road swing with a 5-7 record. The Braves will play their home opener Friday, October 1 against defending Missouri Valley Conference regular-season champion Southwest Missouri State at 7 p.m. at Robertson Memorial Field House.
