HANOVER, N.H. ? For the second time this season the Bradley soccer team pulled even after facing a two-goal deficit, but failed to come away with a result, this time falling to Central Connecticut State, 4-3, Sunday morning at Dartmouth's adidas/Hyperthem Classic at Chase Field.

After the team's exchanged first-half penalty kicks for a 1-1 tie at the intermission, Central Connecticut State (3-2-1) jumped ahead when Alex Harrison scored his second goal of the game in the 57th minute. The Blue Devils increased their lead to 3-1 at 73:35 when Caleb Neves hit a rocket from the edge of the penalty area past Bradley keeper Chris Dunsheath.

Bradley (4-4) had an immediate answer, however, in junior forward Chris Brown (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap H.S.). Brown, who scored two goals in last week's 3-0 victory versus Northeastern, added two more goals Sunday to pull the Braves even. The first strike came just 15 seconds after CCSU's third goal when Brown headed home a Preston Good cross at 73:40. Brown, who took over the team scoring lead with four goals on the season, knotted the score at 3-3 at 78:53 by converting a breakaway opportunity.

Unbeaten in its last 16 overtime games dating back to the end of the 2000 season, Bradley was unable to get Sunday's game to extra time. Harrison completed the first hat trick by a Bradley opponent since 1991 when he finished off a Blue Devil free kick in the 84th minute. Neves hit the free kick and Harrison's shot was deflected past Dunsheath, dropping the Braves to 0-3 away from Shea Stadium this season.

Bradley will try to halt its first losing streak of the season Friday when it opens Missouri Valley Conference play at Eastern Illinois. The Braves will close out their non-conference schedule by hosting Wisconsin-Milwaukee in a 3 p.m. game Oct. 3 at Shea Stadium.
