PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley Softball Team was one of 10 recipients of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Academic Team honors as the Braves ranked seventh in the nation with a 3.458 grade point average during the 2004-05 school year.
The NFCA recognizes a total of 60 programs (10 each in NCAA Division I, II, III; NAIA; junior college; and high school) each season through its Academic Top 10 program. In the Spring 2005 Semester, all 17 members of the Bradley Softball Team earned a spot on the Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll and the team finished the semester with a program record 3.52 team GPA.
Detroit topped the list of Division I programs with a 3.591 GPA and was followed by Saint Louis at 3.544. Cleveland State was third at 3.533, while St. Bonaventure (4th - 3.528), Seton Hall (5th - 3.490) and Eastern Michigan (6th - 3.461) finished in front of Bradley. The Braves were seventh with a 3.458 grade point average and were followed by Iona (8th - 3.452), and Missouri Valley Conference foes Indiana State (9th - 3.428) and Southern Illinois (10th - 3.415).
