SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Senior
Craig Tautges is tied for 15
th and the Bradley Men’s Golf team is in eighth place after 36 holes at the Rivercut Invitational in Springfield, Mo.
The Braves shot 307 in the first round, but recovered to card a 293 in Monday’s second round to finish the day alone in eighth place in the 12-team field.
Tautges fired rounds of 75 and 73 to finish the day tied for 15th overall at 148 in a field that includes 69 individuals. Fellow senior Josh Brown is one shot behind Tautges in a tie for 21st place at 149, following rounds of 76 and 73 during the first day of play.
Junior Scott Phegley shot a 76 in the morning and followed that with a 75 to end the day tied for 27th at 151, while junior Ryan Saurs had a the best round of the day for the Braves in the afternoon shooting a 72. Saurs shot an 80 in the opening round and is one shot behind Phegley in a tie for 31st at 152. Freshman Kyle Shay rounded things out for the Braves as he is tied for 63rd at 162 after shooting 84 and 78.
Western Illinois owns a 10 shot lead atop the leaderboard with a two-round total of 579. Missouri Valley Conference foes Southern Illinois and Illinois State are tied for second at 589, with Oklahoma City checking in at 591 to place fourth after one day of play.
Murray State is one shot back in fifth place at 592, with Missouri State (6th – 598), UMKC (7th – 599) and Bradley (8th – 600) bunched together in sixth, seventh and eighth. Tennessee-Martin and Northern Iowa are tied for ninth place at 606, while Eastern Illinois (11th – 618) and Creighton (12th – 634) round out the field.
Bradley concludes play at the Rivercut Invitational Tuesday with one round of play.
