BROKEN ARROW, Okla. ? Junior Ryan Saurs shot a pair 73s Monday to highlight first day action for the Bradley Men's Golf Team Monday at the Oral Roberts Invitational. Saurs is tied for third overall in the individual standings and the Braves are fourth in the nine-team tournament after 36 holes.
Saurs finished the day tied for third at 146 after shooting a pair 73s during Monday's two rounds of play. Saurs is one shot behind the co-leaders Sean McNemar of Southern Illinois and South Dakota State's Trent Peterson.
Junior Scott Phegley is four shots behind Saurs in a tie for 11th place after carding a pair of 75s to end the day at 150. Senior Josh Brown also shot identical scores on the day firing a pair of 76s to conclude the day in a tie for 16th at 152.
Freshman Kyle Shay had rounds of 77 and 80 to finish the day tied for 30th overall at 157 and senior Craig Tautges shot 77 and 82 to tie for 35th at 159.
Tournament-host Oral Roberts leads the tournament-field with a two-round total of 592. UMKC is second at 597, while Missouri Valley Conference foe Southern Illinois is third at 599.
Bradley is six shots behind the Salukis in fourth place at 605 and the Braves have an eight-shot lead on Loyola-Chicago which is fifth at 613. Texas Pan-American is sixth at 620, with South Dakota State (7th ? 623), North Dakota State (8th ? 630) and Centenary (9th ? 640), rounding out the field, respectively.
The Braves close out play at the Oral Roberts Invitational on Tuesday with one round of play.
