BROKEN ARROW, Okla. -- Seniors Josh Brown and Craig Tautges both tied season lows with 72's during Tuesday final round at the Oral Roberts Invitational, helping the Bradley Men's Golf Team to a fourth place finish in the nine team field to wrap up the fall slate for the Braves.
Brown captured his first and only top 10 finish of the fall, finishing the tournament with a three-round total of 224 after carding a 72 in the final round. Like Brown, Tautges also tied a season-low with his final round of 72 to move into a tie for 26th overall at 231.
Junior Scott Phegley and freshman Kyle Shay both fired 79s to round out team scoring for Bradley, helping the Braves tie for the third-best round of the day at 302. Phegley finished tied for 21st overall at 229, while Shay was tied for 30th at 236. Junior Ryan Saurs shot 81 during Tuesday's action to post his second top 20 finish of the season, tying for 16th at 227.
The Braves entered the day in fourth place, six shots behind third-place Southern Illinois and nearly caught the Salukis during the final round, finishing one shot behind SIU in fourth place. Oral Roberts took the team title with a score of 888, to finish 11 shots ahead of second-place finisher UMKC.
Southern Illinois was third at 906, edging the Braves total of 907 by one shot. The Braves finished 12 shots better than fifth place finisher Loyola-Chicago (919). Texas Pan American was sixth at 921, while South Dakota State (7th - 927), North Dakota State (8th - 935) and Centenary (9th - 961) rounded out the tournament field, respectively.
