CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Senior Jackee Brannan finished 10th in the weight throw as the throws highlighted first day action for the Bradley Track and Field team at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championship in Carbondale, Ill.

Brannan placed 10th in the weight throw with a toss of 16.04 meters (52-07.50) for the Braves top individual finish during the first day of the Valley indoor championships. Sophomore Jennifer Jenkins was 11th in the weight throw with a season-best heave of 16.00 meters (52-06.00) while fellow sophomore Kim Martin also had a season-best throw of 14.69 meters (48-02.50) to finish 15th.

Day One Results

The Braves closest chance for a point during Friday's action came in the distance medley, as freshman Niobra Peterson, sophomores Marcia Backstrom and Sarah Westrick and senior Tiffany Mack finished seventh, clocking a 12:32.86.

Peterson, Mack and sophomore Maya Monitto-Webber each set season-best times in the 200-meter dash as five Braves competed in the event.

Sophomore Shannon Calvert placed 12th in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing in a time of 10.03. Freshman Carli Murphy finished 22nd in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:08.09.

Bradley concludes action at the Valley indoor championship Saturday in Carbondale, Ill.
