PEORIA, Ill. -- Former Bradley softball player Jami Strinz has been named the head softball coach at Beloit College in Beloit, Wis., announced last week. Strinz will officially begin her duties at Wisconsin's oldest college on August 15, after she completes her commitment with the Langhirano Caggiati professional softball team in Italy.

Strinz is currently finishing up her first season with the Langhirano team, where she is a pitcher and third baseman while also doubling as an assistant coach. Her primary coaching duties included working with pitchers and hitters at all levels within the club as well as managing Langhirano's junior program. She also has conducted numerous pitching and hitting clinics in Italy.

An Oregon native, Strinz earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from Bradley in 2001. In addition, she notched 160 strikeouts during her time on The Hilltop, which ranks ninth all-time.

Following graduation, Strinz began her coaching career at Sheldon High School in Eugene, Ore., and also served as a player and coach for several amateur softball teams while back in Oregon. From 2002-04, Jami was a player and coach for the Ireland National Softball Team and also had assistant coaching stints at Texarkana Junior College and George Fox University.
