CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Bradley opened the final day of play at the Frost Classic in Chattanooga, Tenn., with an 8-0 loss to Big Ten Conference foe Indiana Sunday to fall to 5-4 on the season. The Braves managed just two hits in the contest and were shutout for the second consecutive outing.

The Hoosiers scored two runs in the top of the second inning on a two-run homer by Anna Olson and added another run in the third inning on a sacrifice fly by Lauren Hines.

Indiana tacked on another run in the fourth thanks in part to a Bradley error and had its biggest inning in the top of the sixth, pushing three runs across to take a 7-0 lead. In the sixth, Olson drew a one-out walk and Janetta Deavan followed with a single. Stephanie Pellerito singles to score pinch runner Julie DiNallo. A sacrifice bunt put runners at second and third with two outs, but a Bradley error on the next play allowed both runners to score and gave the Hoosiers a 7-0 advantage.

Indiana added the eighth and final run of the game in the top of the seventh on an RBI-single by Pellerito.

Bradley's best scoring opportunity came in the fourth inning. Junior Christine Cooney singled to open the frame and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt and Trish Kowalewski drew a one-out walk to put runners at first and second with one out. Indiana pitcher Megan Roark struck out the next two batters to end the threat and went on to pitch a complete-game two-hit shutout.

Roark struck out nine batters and walked three, while evening her record at 3-3. Freshman Ashley Birdsong suffered the loss for the Braves, dropping to 1-2 on the season. Birdsong gave up seven hits and eight runs (five earned), while striking out six and walking four in the complete game effort.

Bradley closes out play at the Frost Classic later this afternoon against Tennessee-Martin.
