St. Louis ? Senior pitcher Brandon Magee (Sheboygan, Wis./North) was named Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 3rd.
Magee joins freshman right-hander Colin Brennan (Williamsville, Ill./Williamsville) as award recipients.
The senior right hander tossed his second complete-game shutout in his last three outings as the Braves blanked visiting Indiana State, 7-0, on Sunday. The win helped the Braves take their third series opener in as many MVC series.
Magee retired the Sycamores in order in five separate innings and allowed just one runner to see a pitch while occupying second base. The ace struck out nine and walked just one to improve to 5-1 on the season, and 3-0 in conference play. He is currently holding opponents to a .192 batting averaged and has hurled two complete-game shutouts in MVC competition.
The Braves are coming off of their third MVC series win in as many series, having swept Indiana State last weekend for the first time since 1984.
The Braves are in action at O'Brien Field on Tuesday at 6 p.m. when they take on the University of Illinois.
