Box Score WICHITA, Kan.-Travis Banwart struck out a career-high 12 batters in Wichita State's (29-14, 7-6) 10-0 run-rule of the Bradley Braves (19-16, 9-4) Friday night at Eck Stadium.

The sophomore hurler scattered three hits and walked only one during a career-high eight innings in the first complete game thrown by a Shocker this season.

Wichita State pounded out 13 hits against the Braves, with five Shockers having a multiple-hit game. Kenny Waddell, Damon Sublett, Derek Schermerhorn, Tyler Hill, and Tyler Weber had two hits each in the contest, with Sublett leading in RBI with four.

Adding to a 3-0 lead, a Shocker five-run spot in the sixth inning buried the Braves. Weber would lead off the inning with a solo homerun, the first of his career. Noah Krol reached on a single and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Waddell. Workman drew a walk, with the fourth ball going to the wall behind home plate, allowing Krol to move to third. Workman stole second and a Sublett single drove both runners home. Matt Brown walked on four-straight balls and a single from Schermerhorn scored Sublett. A sacrifice fly ball from Hill scored the fifth run of the inning.

Schermerhorn was hit by a pitch and stole second to lead off the eighth inning. Hill and Weber would both draw walks to load the bases, and a third walk to Waddell crossed one run. Workman singled to deep right field to score the one run needed to end the game with a 10-run lead.

Wichita State wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard, scoring two runs in the first inning on a Sublett home run. Waddell was on board by a bunt single when Sublett hit his eighth long-ball of the season, the first home run off of Bradley pitcher Brandon Magee this season. An error by the Bradley second baseman allowed Brown to score in the fifth after reaching on a double.

The Shockers continue the series with the Braves tomorrow, Saturday, April 22 at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
