PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University men's basketball coach Jim Les, who recently directed the Braves to the third round of the 2006 NCAA Tournament, will throw out the first pitch and will be the guest singer of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during Monday's Chicago Cubs baseball game versus the Pittsburgh Pirates at Wrigley Field.
Monday's game will be televised on Comcast SportsNet Chicago, which is available in Peoria on channel 56 on Insight's cable televison package. The guest singers typically conduct interviews with both the Cubs radio and television broadcast crews during the seventh inning.
Les is preparing for his fifth season as Bradley's head coach after leading the 2005-06 Braves to a 22-11 overall record, the team's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 since 1955 and a final No. 24 ranking in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. He will be making his second appearance at Wrigley Field for the traditional singing of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the 7th-inning stretch. His first appearance came during the 2002 season, shortly after he was named the 12th men's basketball coach in Bradley history.
