Charleston, Ill. ? Junior Kim Martin (Bartonville, Ill./Limestone) set a personal-best in the women's hammer throw and Shannon Calvert (Pekin, Ill./Pekin) set a personal best in the 100 hurdles to lead a host of Braves setting best times at the EIU Big Blue Classic on Saturday.
Martin, fresh off a trio of top tens last weekend, set another top distance with her toss of 151'04” (46.12M) in the women's hammer throw, good for sixth place.
Calvert's 16.71 second run in the 100 hurdles was nearly eight-tenths off her previous best time.
Freshman Trish Martens (Elgin, Ill./Burlington Central) shaved four-tenths off her time in the 100 meter dash to finish in 5th at 13.71 seconds while Jessica Puckett (Romeoville, Ill./Romeoville) 13.31 was three-tenths better than her best time of the season.
Julia Schurr's 1:02.65 was two seconds better than her top time.
The Braves run again next weekend at Western Illinois in Macomb, Ill.
