PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior catcher Joanna Pettit (Geneseo, Ill./Geneseo) earned first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors according to an announcement by the league office Wednesday. Pettit led the Braves with a .301 batting average to go along with team highs of nine doubles and 28 RBI.

The first Bradley player to earn first-team All-MVC honors since Laura Harms in 2004, Pettit is just the third catcher in school history to earn first-team All-Valley plaudits and the first since Katie Kiss in 2000. She joined Julie Jehle (1995) and Kiss as the only catchers in Bradley history to earn first-team recognition.

Pettit capped off a solid four-year career with career highs in batting average (.301), runs (18), hits (43), home runs (5), RBI (18), slugging percentage (.469) on base percentage (.338), putouts (305) and fielding percentage (1.000). She led the team with 13 multi-hit games and 10 games with two or more RBI.

In conference games, Pettit ranked among the league leaders with a .361 batting average and was second in Valley games with 18 RBI. She closed out her career with a bang, hitting .484 in the final 10 games with six runs and 11 RBI, while also owning a .710 slugging percentage and .543 on base percentage during that closing stretch.

She wrapped up her career among Bradley's career leaders in several statistical categories, including games played (191 - tied for 5th), home runs (13 - tied for 2nd), RBI (92 - 5th), walks (40 - tied for 9th), slugging percentage (.430 - 8th) and putouts (653 - 6th).

Pettit helped the Braves post their first winning record (25-23 overall) since finishing the 1995 season with a 35-20-1 record. She also helped Bradley finish in a tie for seventh in the Valley standings with a 10-13 MVC record following a 10th place finish (3-23 record) in 2005.
