MAY 17, 2006 ? Former Bradley basketball player Marcus Pollard, who is preparing for his 12th season as an NFL tight end, recently enjoyed a month-long coaching internship with the NFL Europe's Rhein Fire.

Pollard was a power forward for the Bradley men's basketball team from 1992 to 1994 and helped the Braves to a 23-8 record and the third round of the National Invitation Tournament during his senior season.  Although Bradley has not fielded a football team since 1970, Pollard pursued an NFL career after college, landing a position with the Indianapolis Colts, where he played for 10 years.  Pollard is preparing for his second season with the Detroit Lions.
