JULY 10, 2006 -- Both of the former Bradley men's basketball players competing in NBA summer leagues scored in double-figures Monday, Patrick O'Bryant registering 12 points for Golden State and Marcellus Sommerville with 14 points for Dallas.

In his third game for the Golden State Warriors at the Toshiba Vegas Summer League at UNLV's Cox Pavilion, O'Bryant continued to improve offensively by making 5-of-10 field goal attempts and both free throw attempts.  The 7-foot center also added four rebounds and two blocked shots, but was whistled for nine personal fouls in a 91-66 loss against Cleveland's summer squad.

Sommerville played his second game for the Dallas Mavericks entry in the Southern California Summer Pro League Monday at The Pyramid on the campus of Long Beach State University.  One day after scoring 12 points in his pro debut, Sommerville checked in with 14 points, four rebounds and two assists in Monday's action against Memphis.

The two former Braves led Bradley to a 22-11 record in 2005-06 and spearheaded the team's run to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.  Sommerville poured in 21 points in Bradley's first-round upset of #12 Kansas, while O'Bryant followed with a career-best 28 points in the second-round upset of #16 Pittsburgh.  Although only a sophomore, O'Bryant later declared for the NBA Draft and was selected with the ninth overall pick by the Warriors, becoming the sixth first-round draft pick in Braves history.  Sommerville spent the early part of the summer working out in Chicago and made the Dallas roster for the Southern California Summer Pro Leage last week.
