BUCHANAN, Tenn. ? The Bradley men's golf team wrapped up its fall schedule, finishing ninth among NCAA Division I teams at the Skyhawk Invitational at the par-72 Paris Landing Golf Course Tuesday. The Braves turned in their best round of the tournament, with a final round 302 to finish at 911.
Senior Tommie Ackerman (Peoria, Ill./Peoria Christian/Illinois Central) turned in the low-round of the day for Bradley, shooting a final-round 73. Ackerman finished tied for 44th overall at 230.
Freshman Coby Thompson (East Galesburg, Ill./Knoxville) was the Braves top finisher, tying for 28th at 225 after firing a third-round 76. Sophomore Zach Wanken (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) finished tied with Ackerman for 44th at 230, after shooting 76 during Tuesday's play.
Freshman Nathan Perry (Normal, Ill./West) shot 79 to finish at 232 and earn a share of 54th place. Senior Nick Roth (Rochester, Ill./Rochester/Illinois Central) rounded out the scoring for the Braves with a final-round 77 and was tied for 71st at 237.
Tennessee Tech won the team title with a four-under par 860, while Murray State was second at 866. Murray State Gold took third place at 886 and Evansville was two shots back in fourth place at 888. Eastern Illinois rounded out the top five at 889.
Tournament-host Tennessee-Martin was tied for sixth with Southern Illinois at 891 and Army was eighth at 902. The Braves were ninth among Division I teams at 911 and held a five-shot edge on Jackson State at 916. Morehead State was the 11th Division team in the standings at 917 and was followed by UT-Martin Orange (932), Tennessee State (935) and Chicago State (963).
