Jenna Harrison Named MVC Scholar-Athlete

PEORIA, Ill. ? Senior middle blocker Jenna Harrison (Edwardsville, Ill./Metro East Lutheran) was named a first-team Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete announced by the league office recently. Harrison is the 12th different player in program history to earn first-team MVC Scholar-Athlete honors.

She finished second on the team with 230 kills and a 2.28 kills per game average, while leading the team with a .252 attack percentage. Harrison also ranked second on the squad with 69 block assists and her 77 total blocks and 0.76 blocks per game was third on the team. In conference play, she averaged 2.17 kills per game and boasted a .281 hitting percentage.

An actuarial science major with a 3.81 cumulative grade point average, Harrison was a second-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V selection. She was named the Bradley Country Insurance and Financial Services Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 10 and has been named to the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll all six of her semesters at Bradley.

Harrison's award marked the 11th consecutive year Bradley had a first-team MVC Scholar-Athlete honoree. The Braves have earned a total of 20 first-team MVC Scholar-Athlete honors over the last 11 seasons and have a total of 22 first-team scholar-athlete selections over the last 16 years.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve, maintain a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and reached sophomore athletic and academic standings in order to be nominated for the award.
