Bradley men's basketball head coach Jim Les will be a guest tonight on ESPN Radio's “The Pulse,” the nightly sports talk show hosted by Doug Gottlieb. Les is scheduled to join the broadcast at 7:40 p.m. (CST).
In his fifth year as Bradley's head coach, Les has directed the Braves (20-11, 10-8 MVC) to their first 20-win regular season since 1988. Having lost nearly two-thirds of its scoring and rebounding from the 2006 squad that advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16, Bradley was picked eighth in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll. Les overhauled the offense, however, opting for a four-guard attack.
As a result of the change, Bradley has turned into one of the most proficient 3-point shooting teams in the country. The Braves began the day leading the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (.426) and ranked second nationally in 3-pointers per game (10.4). Boasting six players nominated for The Valley's Most-Improved Team, Bradley finished fourth in the league regular-season race and will take on fifth-seeded Northern Iowa (18-12, 9-9) in Friday's 2:35 p.m. quarterfinal game of the State Farm MVC Tournament at Scottrade Center in St. Louis.
