PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior Ryan Curry (Downers Grove, Ill./South) has been named the Bradley Country Insurance & Financial Services Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday, after hitting .474 last week and helping the Bradley baseball team to a 4-0 record.

Curry went 9-for-19 at the plate with three doubles, six runs and six RBI as the Braves posted victories against Saint Louis (5-2) and took the first three games of their series at Hawaii-Hilo (9-7, 19-10 and 7-6). He went 4-for-5 with two doubles, three runs and three RBI to help highlight Bradley's 9-7 victory in the series opener at Hawaii-Hilo.  Currently leading the team with a .468 batting average, Curry also leads the team in runs (18), doubles (12) and RBI (19). A business management and administration major, Curry owns a 3.18 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Insurance & Financial Services Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Curry and the Braves continue their six-game series at Hawaii-Hilo tonight at 11 p.m. (CDT) and wrap up the set Thursday with a single game at 8 p.m. (CDT).
