Rio Verde, Ariz. ? Sophomore Bari-Lynn Erais and senior Charlotte McGinnis are tied for 43rd and the Bradley women's golf team is tied for 16th in the 18-team field after the first round of play Friday at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational at the par-72 Quail Run Golf Course.
The Braves are tied with Ohio for 16th place after shooting a 317 during Friday's opening round of action with Erais and McGinnis sharing low-round honors of the day for Bradley at 78. Junior Rikki Sobel is one shot behind the duo in a tie for 60th place at 79 and Whitney Cox and Lauren Downing are tied for 85th at 82.

41st-ranked Baylor holds a nine-shot lead on the field, carding a one-over par 289 to open play. Toledo and Arkansas-Little Rock are tied for second place at 298 while Texas Tech (300) and Eastern Michigan (303) round out the top five.
Wisconsin and tournament-host Western Michigan are tied for sixth place at 304 and MVC rival Missouri State is eighth at 305. Xavier and Cincinnati finished the day tied for sixth at 306 with Southern Illinois one shot back in 11th at 307. Illinois sits in 12th place 309 and is one shot better than Illinois State and Minnesota who are tied for 13th at 310. Bowling Green is alone in 15th place at 312 and is followed by Bradley and Ohio tied at 16th at 317. Ball State rounds out the field, four shots behind Bradley and Ohio in at 321.
The Braves continue play at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational with one round of play on Saturday.
