PEORIA, Ill. -- Former Bradley men's golf standout Scott Phegley claimed the title at last week's inaugural Long Drive Challenge, sponsored by the Peoria Park District.
Phegley beat over 100 competitors in the men's field with a drive of 284 yards in the finals to claim the long drive title which was held on the par-4, 385-yard fourth hole at Leo Donovan Golf Course.
He finished up his collegiate career this spring, leading the Braves in 2006-07 with a 74.5 stroke average and four top 10 finishes. Phegley led Bradley in stroke average each of his last two seasons and finished his career with a 76.5 stroke average, seven top finishes and shot 66 of his 84 rounds at Bradley in the 70's.
