PEORIA, Ill. -- The student section at Carver Arena during Bradley University men's basketball games will be known as the “Red Sea” during the 2007-08 season and the marketing staff of the athletic department is sponsoring a contest for Bradley University students to the design the t-shirts to be worn in the rooting section.

Bradley Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs John Searby will award the design winner two passes to the Braves Club Room for the home opener Nov. 14 versus Big 12 Conference member Iowa State, as well as recognition in the game program.  The logo for the red t-shirt must be white and be related to the “Red Sea” name being given to the student section.  Submissions should be supplied in a PDF format and emailed to Searby at jsearby@bradley.edu by Oct. 5.

Students purchased 687 season tickets for the 2006-07 Bradley men's basketball season and nearly 1,200 students attended the victories versus DePaul Nov. 11 and Illinois State Jan. 24.  The Bradley ticket office reports that student season-ticket sales are running ahead of last year's preseason pace.

Student season tickets are $20 and include 12 games during the 2007-08 season, compared to the 11 home games while school was in session last year.  Among the 12 games in the 2007-08 “Red Sea” student season-ticket package are non-conference tilts versus Iowa State (Nov. 14), Michigan State (Dec. 4) and the to-be-announced BracketBusters opponent (Feb. 23), as well as Missouri Valley Conference games against Interstate 74 rival Illinois State (Jan. 23) and 2007 postseason participants Missouri State (Feb. 6), Creighton (Feb. 16) and Southern Illinois (Feb. 26).  In addition to the tickets for the 12 designated games, student season-ticket holders will receive a “Red Sea” t-shirt and will be eligible to receive five bonus points in the Red Pride student rewards program when they purchase their tickets.

Students may purchase Bradley men's basketball season tickets and register for the Red Pride program at the Robertson Fieldhouse Box Office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.  For more information, contact the ticket office staff at (309) 677-2625 or visit www.bubraves.com.
