PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley women's tennis team will make its 2007-08 debut this weekend, when the Braves host the Bradley Invitational Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Matches will be played on campus at the Markin Tennis Courts with select matches being played at nearby Laura Bradley Park.
The tournament includes instate foes Northern Illinois, Eastern Illinois and Chicago State in addition to Cleveland State and Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The Braves return five letterwinners from last year's team and have no seniors on the roster. Leading the way for Bradley this year will be juniors Kim Braun (Racine, Wis./The Prairie School) and Erin Krubeck (Boulder, Colo./Fairview).
A trio of talented sophomores will also highlight the Braves lineup. Jessica Buterbaugh (Paradise Valley, Ariz./Chaparral) is tops among the Braves returnees with 15 victories and was second on the team in wins as a freshman. Fellow sophomore Emily Regenold (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton) was third on the team with 13 wins, while Kelly Donohue (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) posted a 12-17 record last year.
Freshman Nicole Miller (Glendale Heights, Ill./Glenbard West) is the lone addition to the roster for the Braves in 2007-08.
