PEORIA, Ill. ? First-year Bradley volleyball coach Sean Burdette has completed his coaching staff with the announcement that former Ohio University standout Savanah Parra will join the Braves as an assistant coach. A two-year starter at setter for the Bobcats, she will work primarily with Bradley's setters.

Parra graduated from Ohio with a Bachelor of Science in Hearing, Speech and Language Science last spring joins the Bradley coaching staff after serving as an assistant coach at the University of Southern Indiana. She helped the Screaming Eagles to a 15-14 overall record in her only season at the Evansville, Ind., school.

"We are really excited about Savanah joining our program," Burdette said. "She brings a combination of high level playing experience as a setter that led Ohio University to the Sweet Sixteen and has had the opportunity to coach at the college level for the University of Southern Indiana, training the setters and defenders. It is great to have Savanah on board with a few weeks left in our Spring season. This will give her and the team an opportunity to work together and get to know each other prior to the Fall season."

A native of Temecula, Calif., she had a stellar career at Ohio where the Bobcats were 118-16 (.881) during her four years (2003-06) at the Athens, Ohio, school. Ohio dominated the Mid American Conference during that span, going 63-1 (.984) in regular-season conference matches. The Bobcats, which were 61-8 overall and 32-0 in MAC play with Parra at starting setter, also claimed four consecutive MAC tournament titles and made four straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

Parra ranks third in career assists at Ohio with 3,219 and also ranks in the top 10 in school history in career aces (127) and digs (972). She holds the top two season totals for assists at Ohio and was named the MAC Tournament MVP in 2005 and later helped to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in her first season as the starting setter.

A two-time second-team All-MAC selection she earned honorable mention AVCA All-Region recognition as a junior and senior and was second in the NCAA in assists per game as a junior.
