Kori Jensen (Wichita, Kan./Goddard/Hutchinson) has been named the Bradley Country Insurance & Financial Services Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Tuesday, picking up the lone win in the series against Northern Iowa and helping the Braves secure a spot in the upcoming State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
Jensen made two appearances during the weekend series versus UNI, tossing a total of 8.2 innings, allowing two earned runs on eight hits. He turned in his longest outing of the season Sunday, throwing 99 pitches in 6.2 innings and striking out a season-best eight to earn the win in relief. Jensen is now 5-0 on the year with a single-season school record seven saves. An economics major, Jensen owns a 3.20 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Insurance & Financial Services Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Jensen and the Braves travel to his hometown of Wichita, Kan., for a three-game series against Wichita State. Bradley opens the three-game set against the Shockers Thursday at 7 p.m.
