SHEA SKID EXTENDED

?    Playing at home for the first time in 20 days, the Bradley soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Cal State Fullerton last Saturday night, falling to 4-3-1 on the season.

?    The Braves are 0-2-1 at Shea Stadium this season, Bradley's first three-game winless streak in the history of the former baseball facility.

?    Bradley last went three or more home games without a win in 2002, a year that included a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

DEFENDER STARTS THE OFFENSE

?    Senior defender Brad Snook registered his first career assist Saturday night against Cal State Fullerton.

?    Snook's throw in to sophomore Rudy Garcia started a play that eventually led to Chris Cutshaw's fifth goal of the season.

?    Saturday night marked Snook's eighth career start and 31st appearance overall.

?    Snook is the only senior on the Bradley roster, the first time since 1988 the Braves have had just one senior and the third time overall.

HOMECOMING ON THE HORIZON

?    Bradley will host the four-team Country Inn & Suites Homecoming Classic this weekend.

?    Alabama A&M, Howard and Missouri Valley Conference rival Missouri State will join Bradley in the two-day tournament.

?    The Braves will host Alabama A&M Friday night, then host Howard Saturday night, both games kicking off at 7:30 p.m.

?    Last season, the Braves topped IUPUI, 3-0, before dropping a 1-0 overtime match to Illinois-Chicago to take third place in the 2007 homecoming tournament.

?    The tournament will be the third regular season tournament of the season for the Braves, the seventh consecutive season the Braves will participate in at least three in-season tournaments.

?    Bradley has hosted 17 tournaments in the history of the program, claiming at least a share of the title on 10 different occasions.

DEFENSIVE NUMBERS STILL SOLID

?    The Bradley defense has allowed just six goals through the season's eight games, still matching the pace of the 2005 squad that went on to allow 18 goals, the second-lowest total in school history.

?    In Saturday's loss to Cal State Fullerton, the Braves allowed more than one goal for the first time this season.

?    The Braves are on pace to allow 13.5 goals this season, almost matching the 1998 squad that allowed a school-record 13 goals.

?    Sophomore goalkeeper Drew Van Kampen made eight saves against Cal State Fullerton, the most by a Bradley goalkeeper since Mike Haynes stopped eight shots on goal in Bradley's NCAA Tournament game at Indiana last November.

VALLEY PLAY APPROACHING

?    Only three games remain before the start of the Missouri Valley Conference portion of the Bradley schedule.

?    The Braves open the five-game conference slate Oct. 15 at Shea Stadium against Eastern Illinois.

?    The six-team league has combined to go a combined 30-14-5 through the season's first month of non-conference play.

?    Bradley has won at least a share of four regular season MVC championships, including the last three straight.

the drive for 200

?    After the loss to Cal State Fullerton, Bradley's all-time record sits at 198-202-37 (.494).

?    The Braves need two more victories to hit the 200 win mark.

?    The Braves could potentially earn their 200th win at home, playing four of its next five games at Shea Stadium.

?    This season, the all-time Bradley record could eclipse the .500 mark for the first time in program history.

?     The first Bradley team in 1987 started 0-4 while the Braves didn't post a winning record in a single season until 1992, when the Braves went 11-7-1.
