The featured event of the 2009 Bradley Baseball Alumni Weekend was the Dewey Kalmer Tribute Brunch Sunday in the Bradley University Michel Student Center Ballroom.  Several former players and coaches, as well as Bradley University dignitaries, took part in the tribute program, which concluded with an address from the guest of honor.

Kalmer retired in June as the winningest coach in Bradley Athletics history.  Following 11 years leading the baseball program at his alma mater, Quincy College, Kalmer took over the helm of the Bradley Baseball program in 1980 and directed the Braves to 842 wins in 29 seasons.  His 40-year combined record at Quincy and Bradley left Kalmer with 1,032 career victories.
