PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior outside hitter Amy Reichel (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the second time in the last three weeks announced Wednesday.
Reichel ended her career on high note, averaging 3.38 kills per set and leading the Braves in kills in each of Bradley's final two matches of the season. She tallied a match-high 16 kills and added four digs in BU's five-set loss to Drake. Reichel notched a match-high 11 kills, while attacking at a .308 clip in the final match of her career Saturday against Creighton to finish her career 15th on Bradley's career kills list with 895. An advertising major, Reichel owns a 3.45 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
