PEORIA, Ill. - Bradley University men's basketball coach Jim Les will be a guest on WGN Radio's popular nightly talk show "Sports Central" Tuesday night in advance of his team's Wednesday night home game against Loyola-Chicago. The appearance on "Sports Central" headlines a growing list of media appearances by Les and newly-appointed Bradley Director of Athletics Dr. Michael Cross in the coming days.
"Sports Central" is hosted by Dave Kaplan, who once served as Les' coach in the now-defunct World Basketball League. Les is scheduled to join the show at 8:45 p.m. (CST) Tuesday night. WGN Radio can be found at AM 720 and the station streams its programming on the internet at www.wgnradio.com.
Including consecutive victories against Illinois and Northern Illinois this season, Bradley (5-3) has won six straight non-conference games versus its in-state rivals and Les owns an 18-5 record against non-Valley teams from the Land of Lincoln.
Prior to his appearance on "Sports Central," Les will take part in his local weekly television and radio programs. The third episode of this season's "Jim Les Show" will air Saturday at noon on Comcast cable channel 44 and Les is scheduled for his weekly appearance on "The Greg and Dan Show" Monday morning at 8:30.
The half-hour "Jim Les Show" airs most Saturdays throughout the basketball season on Comcast Cable channel 44. The shows originally air at noon and replay again at 12:30, then are made available for on-demand viewing to Bradley All-Access subscribers through Bradley's official athletic department website, www.BradleyBraves.com. This week's show includes highlights from Monday night's game against Western Carolina, an interview with junior guard Andrew Warren and a look a Bradley Basketball's role in the Travel Channel's "Meet the Natives: USA" program.
Appointed Bradley's ninth Director of Athletics Tuesday, Dr. Cross will join Jim Mattson on "Saturday Kick-Off" at 9:30 Saturday morning. Peoria's ESPN Radio affiliate can be heard locally at 96.5 FM and the station's programming is streamed online at www.965espn.com.
