FORT WAYNE, Ind.
? Less than one week removed from a season opening victory over Valparaiso in which the Braves didn't drop a singles set, the Bradley women's tennis team earned another sweep with a 7-0 victory over Robert Morris Saturday morning in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Sophomore Nicole Miller (Glendale Heights, Ill./Glenbard West H.S.) recorded a quick victory at the top singles position for the second consecutive match, defeating Libby Shaw 6-0, 6-1. Playing for the first time this spring, freshman Veronika Wojakowska (Colorado, Springs. Colo./Palmer H.S.) won at No. 2 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 decision over Ekaterina Rudneva. Junior Emily Regenold improved to 2-0 on the spring with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 3 over Maria Olausson.
Bradley junior Kelly Donohue (Louisvile, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) maintained the momentum for the Braves at No. 4, stopping Sara Meier 6-1, 6-0, while junior classmate Jessica Buterbaugh (Paradise Valley, Ariz./Chaparral) won her second match of the spring with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 over Gwen Dalphon. Senior Kim Braun (Racine, Wis./The Prairie School) finished the singles sweep for the Braves with a 6-1, 6-2 win against Emily Himmel at No. 6.
In doubles play, the Braves made quick work of the Colnials with three consecutive wins. At the top spot, Miller and Regenold earned an 8-2 win over Shaw and Kali Delorie. Buterbaugh and Donhue defeated Olausson and Rudneva at No. 2, 8-1, while Braun and senior Erin Krubeck (Boulder, Colo./Fairview H.S.) stopped Meier and Dalphon at No. 3 by an 8-2 score.
The Braves will play their second match of the day later Saturday, visiting IPFW at 2 p.m.
