PEORIA, Ill. -- For the second straight semester, the Bradley men's basketball team has combined for a program-record semester grade point average, according to the calculation of student-athlete grades following the just completed grading period.

The athletic department has records for student-athlete semester grade point averages going back to 1986 and the marks recorded by the men's basketball team's 16 rostered players are the program's best during the last 44 semester grading periods.

“I want to congratulate our players for their hard work throughout the year, both on the court and in the classroom,” said Bradley head coach Jim Les.  “As a group, they have dedicated themselves to their studies and they have been rewarded with another great semester.

“I also want to commend our tremendous faculty and staff for recognizing the commitment these young men have made to represent Bradley University on a daily basis,” added Les.  “In particular Neci Charleston, Heather Moles, the entire academic suppport staff and our coaching staff all have done a tremendous job of working with our players and stressing the importance of excelling academically.”

Final semester grades for the entire Department of Athletics and the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the 2009 Spring Semester will be announced later this summer.
