PEORIA, Ill. - The first 1,000 fans at tonight's inaugural Hoopla on the Hilltop event will receive a commemorative Hoopla on the Hilltop t-shirt. The entertaining, hour-long event, which is being held at Bradley University's new on-campus arena, is a featured attraction during Bradley's Homecoming schedule and will be the public's first introduction to the 2010-11 men's and women's basketball teams.
Tickets for Hoopla on the Hilltop are $5 for the general public and free for Bradley University students, faculty and staff and may be purchased in advance in person at the arena box office. The doors will open at 8 p.m. and the hour-long program will begin at 9 p.m.
In addition to spotlighted introductions of the 2010-11 Bradley men's and women's basketball teams, one lucky fan will have the opportunity to shoot for a $10,000 cash prize. The event will also feature dance performances by both teams, a women's basketball shooting contest and men's basketball dunk contest. One member of the Red Sea student fan club will be selected to shoot for free books for the 2011 Spring Semester and one fan will be selected through a text-messaging promotion for a half-court shot at $10,000.
In order to enter the drawing for the Hoopla Half-Court Shot, text BUHOOPS to 69050 anytime before 9 p.m. Oct. 15. The shooter will be selected midway through the Hoopla on the Hilltop event. If the Hoopla Half-Court Shot is missed, everyone in attendance will have an opportunity to receive a mobile coupon for discounted wings from Buffalo Wild Wings. Hoopla Half-Court Shot restrictions: Anyone who has played or coached professional or semi-professional basketball at anytime or played or coached basketball at the high school, junior college, college or Olympic level within the last five (5) years will be ineligible to attempt the Hoopla Half-Court Shot
