PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior Rachelle Dejean (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) recorded the 1,000 dig of her career and the trio of Amy Angelos (Waukegan, Ill./Waukegan), Megan Schmidt (Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic) and Annie Cave (Easton, Ill./Illini Central) combined for 29 kills and a .568 attack percentage to help power Bradley to a 25-18, 25-12, 25-11 victory against Chicago State Tuesday at Renaissance Coliseum.

Schmidt was a perfect 5-for-5 on attack attempts in the first set to help highlight Bradley's 25-18 opening set win.  The Braves (5-19 overall) led by as many as nine points in the opening frame (18-9) and limited Chicago State (0-26 overall) to just four kills in the first set of play.  Schmidt capped the 25-18 win with a kill as she moved up two spots on Bradley's career kills list into 28th place.

Angelos took over in the third set, recording six of her match-high 13 kills in the frame and the Braves served up five of their season-best nine aces on the night during a 25-12 second-set victory.  Angelos highlighted a 10-2 BU run with four of six second-set kills to help BU build a 15-5 advantage.  The Braves maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way and cruised to the 25-12 win to go up two sets to none.

Cave took over for BU offensively in the third set, finding the floor for kills on all five of her swings in the frame.  After the Cougars took an early 3-1 lead, Cave tallied four kills to highlight a 12-3 Bradley run to help the Braves build a 13-6 lead.  After a slow start offensively in the first set, BU hit .407 in both the second and third sets and completed the sweep with a 25-11 win in the third set.

Dejean reached the 1,000-dig mark in her career late in the second set and is the first BU player to reach the 1,000-dig plateau since Stephanie Behrns in 2002.  Dejean's match-high 13 digs moved her into a tie with Julie Penn for 12th on Bradley's career digs list with 1,005 and she helped the Braves control the tempo as BU owned a 48-30 advantage in digs.

Angelos finished with 13 kills, while attacking at a .455 clip to lead the Braves' offense which hit a season-best .337.  Schmidt added eight kills on 11 swings for a .727 attack percentage to go along with three blocks.  In addition to serving up a match-high three aces, Cave matched Schmidt's eight kills and hit .636 in the match to help highlight the victory in the final non-conference match of the season.

Bradley limited Chicago State to an .011 attack percentage and just 16 kills in the match.  Valeria Desiderio led the Cougars with seven kills and Leslie Williams paced Chicago State defensively with 12 digs.

The Braves return to action Friday with a 7 p.m. match at Evansville to open a two-match Missouri Valley Conference road swing.
