Box Score CLEARWATER, Fla. - Senior Amanda Clack (Hillsoboro, Mo./HIllsoboro) went 3-for-4 and junior Brittany Fairbairn (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East/Kankakee) extended her hit streak to a team-best six games with a 2-for-4 effort, but Chattanooga collected 12 hits and topped the Braves 8-2 Saturday at the Under Armour Invitational.
The Mocs (12-5 overall) scored the first eight runs of the game, before Bradley (7-6 overall) was able to push two runs across in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Jessica Traxler opened the scoring with a bases loaded single to center in the top of the second inning. Bradley threw a runner out at the plate on a fielder's choice for the first out of the inning, and junior Katie Dennis (Gilbert, Ariz./Mesquite) struck out the next batter, but Lyndsey Stiles drew a two-out bases-loaded walk to give Chattanooga a 2-0 lead.
The Mocs added a pair of runs in the top of the fourth to push the lead to 4-0. Chattanooga loaded the bases with two outs when Della Harrison ripped a pinch-hit single up the middle to drive in a pair of runs.
Chattanooga struck for two more runs in the top of the fifth inning. Lauren Flores drove in a run with a two-out single to center field and Stiles delivered a two-out infield single to push the Mocs advantage to 6-0.
A solo home run by Tiffany Baker in the top of the sixth gave Chattanooga a 7-0 lead and the Mocs scored on a Bradley error in the top of the seventh to push the lead to 8-0.
The Braves were able to push two runs across in the bottom of the seventh. Senior Lindsay Watkins (Hopedale, Ill./Olympia/Parkland) drew a one-out walk and Clack had a two-out single to left for her third hit of the contest. Fairbairn belted a triple to left center to drive in two, but Chattanooga starter Brooke Loudermilk scattered six hits in the complete game victory.
Dennis fell to 2-2 on the season with the loss in the circle for the Braves. She gave up eight hits and six runs in four and two-third innings. Freshman Mackenzie Camp (Mapleton, Ill./Limestone) pitched two and one-third innings in relief, surrendering four hits and two runs (one earned).
Bradley returns to action at 10:30 a.m. against Wagner to conclude the second-day of play at the Under Armour Invitational.
