PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley will close out the non-conference portion of its 2010 schedule Wednesday when the Braves welcome SIU Edwardsville to Laura Bradley Park for a single game beginning at 3 p.m.  The Braves (12-23 overall, 3-10 MVC) went 1-2 over the weekend in a three-game series at Missouri State.

SIU Edwardsville owns a 22-16 overall record heading into a Tuesday afternoon doubleheader with nationally ranked Missouri.  The Cougars won the season's first meeting, topping Bradley 1-0 on March 16 in Edwardsville.  Lauren Zembruski drove in the only run of the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning in the first meeting this season.  The Braves had runners at first and third with one out in the top of the seventh inning, but could not push a run across as the Cougars posted a 1-0 victory.

Wednesday's game will be the fourth meeting in the last two seasons between the two programs.  Last season's games were the first in the series since the 1984 campaign.

Wednesday's contest will also be Bradley Student Appreciation day with the first 50 Bradley students present before the end of the first inning receiving a coupon to redeem for a free Papa John's Pizza at the end of the third inning.

Following Wednesday's game against SIU Edwardsville, Bradley heads to Terre Haute, Ind., for a three-game conference series against Indiana State.  The Braves and Sycamores open the three-game set Saturday with an 11 a.m. (CDT) doubleheader and wrap things up Sunday with a single game beginning at 11 a.m. (CDT).  Bradley holds a 46-26 lead in the all-time series with Indiana State after sweeping a rain-shortened two-game series last year in Peoria.  The Braves have won three consecutive games against the Sycamores and five of the last seven overall in the series.

Freshman Taylor Cox (Loveland, Colo./Andover [Kan.]) has reached base safely in eight consecutive games and boasts an impressive .533 on base percentage during that stretch.  She has drawn eight of her team-leading 20 base on balls in the last eight games and her 20 walks on the year is tied for the sixth best season total in school history.  Cox is also hitting a team-leading .412 in Missouri Valley Conference play.
