After going 22 days between Missouri Valley Conference games, the Bradley baseball team will resume it Valley schedule this weekend with a three-game series against Interstate 74 rival Illinois State at Duffy Bass Field. With two weeks left in the regular season, Bradley (17-27, 5-10 MVC) will enter the series in seventh place in the 8-team Valley, but just two games out of fourth place. Meanwhile, the Redbirds (24-19, 12-3 MVC) are perched atop the league standings, but only a half-game ahead of second-place Wichita State.
Bradley owns a 113-100 lead in the all-time series against the Redbirds, but Illinois State has won 2-of-3 in the rivalry each of the last two seasons and sports a 19-17 series edge during the 2000's.
