Cooper was a 14th-round draft choice of the Detroit Tigers in last month's Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.  After signing a contract with the Tigers last week, he struck out two batters in one inning of relief work Wednesday night at Lowell in his debut for Connecticut.
