PEORIA, Ill. -- Incoming freshmen Alex Chandler (Needles, Calif./Needles), pitcher/outfielder Madeline Lynch-Crumrine (Sedro-Woolley, Wash./Sedro-Woolley) and infield/utility player Brianne Joseph (Post Falls, Idaho/Post Falls) each wrapped up their high school careers by helping their teams to state championships earlier this summer.
Lynch-Crumrine picked up the victory and went 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI in the championship game. She went on to earn Skagit Valley Herald Player of the Year honors for the second year in a row and finished up her career as the school's career record holder in both home runs (20) and strikeouts, fanning 557 batters. Sedro-Woolley's all-time hits leader, she posted a 50-8-2 career record in the circle with a 0.78 career ERA and holds 13 offensive and pitching school records.
Joseph led her team to a Class 5A state championship and was named her team's Offensive Player of the Year in addition to earning first-team all conference honors. Chandler, a shortstop/outfielder, was the Class 2A Player of the Year and signed a Nationel Letter of Intent to attend Bradley in July.
In addition, incoming freshman outfielder Mariah Cole (Springfield, Ill./Chatham Glenwood) earned second team all-state honors as a senior, while taking home all conference honors this spring. Freshman catcher/utility player KayCee Miller (Omaha, Neb./Papillion-La Vista) helped her team to a fourth-place state finish in the fall, while garnering second team all state honors. Miller was named MVP of the USSSA National Tournament and helped her summer team to a 72-7 record and national title.
Bradley will also benefit from the addition of Illinois Central College transfer Lindsay Hufeld (Mapleton, Ill./Limestone/Illinois Central College). An all-region selection last spring she earned NJCAA Pitcher of the Week honors in April and helped the Cougars to a regional championship game appearance. Hufeld posted a 16-4 record as a sophomore for current ICC coach and former Bradley letterwinner Heather Doty (Hahn).
