JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Drama ruled the finish as the Bradley Soccer team stunned host Saint Peter's (0-1-0) with a 2-1, short-handed victory Wednesday afternoon at Jaroschak Field.  Freshman Wojciech Wojcik (Elmwood Park, Ill./Elmwood Park H.S.) scored the game-winner in the 89th minute and junior keeper Kyle Orne (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista H.S.) stopped a penalty kick 11 seconds later to secure Bradley's ninth consecutive season-opening victory.

Freshman midfielder Aodhan Quinn (San Diego, Calif./Mt. Carmel H.S.) was credited with the assist on both Bradley goals.  Quinn's corner kick in the sixth minute set up junior back Tommy Fritze (Littleton, Colo./Chatfield H.S.) for the game's first goal, a direct header from Quinn's service.  Fritze missed the final six games of the 2009 season with a knee injury and scored the second goal of his career in his official return to the pitch.

Saint Peter's was the aggressor in the second half, eventually pulling even in the 65th minute on a Liad Amir 20-yard free kick.   Momentum appeared to swing fully in favor of the Peacocks when Bradley junior midfielder Keith Mach was sent off with a red card in the 74th minute, forcing the Braves to play a man down the rest of the way.

Playing with the extra man, Saint Peter's outshot Bradley 4-1 over the next 11 minutes, but Wojcik negated the advantage at 88:37 when he slid through the box to drive home another Quinn service.

With time running out, Saint Peter's played the ensuing center kick over the top, forcing Orne to rush off his line.  The Bradley keeper was called for a foul in his dash for the free ball, setting up the potential tying penalty kick, but he made a diving stop to his left on the low shot by Assaf Sheleg and corralled the loose ball before the Peacocks could bang in the rebound.

The Braves (1-0-0) will continue their season-opening 3-game East Coast road swing with a 6 p.m. contest Friday at Fairfield, then will wrap up the trip with an 11 a.m. kickoff Sunday at Delaware.
