Kreiter Leads Bradley Men in Season's First Round

EAST LANSING, Mich. - In his first competitive round as a collegiate golfer, Travis Kreiter (Brimfield, Ill./Brimfield H.S.) paced Bradley with a 4-over-par 76 in the first round of Michigan State's Fossum Invitational at Forest Akers West Golf Course. Saturday's second round was suspended at 3:40 p.m. due to heavy rains and will be completed Sunday morning at 9 o'clock. As a result, the tournament will be shortened to 36 holes.

Kreiter's 76 put him in a tie for 15th in the 82-player field, but the Bradley freshman was the only Brave to shoot in the 70's during the team's opening round of the season. Senior Coby Thompson followed with an 80, while freshman Daniel Young added an 86. Fellow frosh Kyle Gunther joined senior Nathan Perry with first-round 87's.
