PEORIA, Ill. -  Indiana State forward Carl Richard posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, helping the visiting Sycamores (10-7, 5-1 MVC) halt their 12-game losing streak at Carver Arena with a 59-53 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball victory at Bradley Wednesday night.

Despite a career-high-tying 21 points by senior guard Dodie Dunson (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington H.S.), the Braves (6-11, 0-6 MVC) saw their winless streak reach a season-high six games.  Indiana State swept the regular-season series for the first time since 1997-98, also the last season the Sycamores won in Peoria.

Bradley came into the game leading The Valley in free throw percentage in conference games at 81.7 percent, but the Braves made just 10-of-19 (.526) charity shots Wednesday.  And with the league's leading scorer, senior guard Andrew Warren limited to a season-low six points on 2-for-9 shooting from the field, Bradley could not come up with enough offense to overcome the Sycamores.  Warren was coming off a career-high 30 points Sunday at UNI and entered Wednesday's contest leading the league at 19.6 points per game.

Indiana State guard Aaron Carter drew the primary defensive assignment on Warren and hit perhaps the biggest shot in the game.  With the Sycamores clinging to a 47-45 lead, Carter came up with an offensive rebound then buried a 3-pointer from the right wing for a 50-45 advantage with 4:26 left.  The trey started a 9-0 Sycamores surge that led to a 56-46 bulge with just 35 seconds left.

Bradley will try to end its skid Sunday night when the Braves host league-leading Missouri State in a 7:05 p.m. game that will be televised nationally from Carver Arena on ESPNU.
